Founded in 1975 and based out of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Rough Country started out producing aftermarket shocks for off-road use. In 1986 they were purchased by Heckethorn Products a metal design and automotive parts manufacturer. This was when Rough Country started designing and building lift kits to go with their shocks.
